The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) is an international NGO
working to ensure long term conservation and protection of
chimpanzees and their forest habitats though empowering
and enhancing the national and local institutions
(government agencies, local government and local communities)
to be effective custodians of the endangered ape.
JGI invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to
fill up the available vacant positions based in Lubowa office
with frequent field visits.
1. Position : Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director, the M&E Manager will
be responsible for all aspects of organizational learning and
will manage performance data and M & E capabilities in all
program components and will come up with findings based
on real data to show performance of projects.
Required Qualification and experience:
Masters’ degree in any social or natural science discipline
with Diploma or Certificate in M&E. A 5 years’ experience in
a similar post is required. Demonstrated competencies in
setting up M&E systems will be an added advantage.
• To ensure reliability and integrity of performance data;
manage monitoring and evaluation (M&E) capabilities and
systems; and lead knowledge and information requirements
for the Uganda office, which will include but is not limited to
performing standard reporting, collection of impact stories,
and submission to publication and social media platforms.
• Track/compile/verify all data related to the standard suite of
Africa Programs (AP) Global indicators under the AP
• Report against AP Global indicator targets on a quarterly
basis and submit the Africa Programs Program Analyst in
the JGI USA Office.
• Report against all agreed upon project indicators as
stipulated in agreements with donors and other stakeholders.

Communication and Policy Coordination Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communication
manager will manage, coordinate and lead the development,
implementation and review of efficient communication and
media strategies to establish JGI as an organisation which
delivers its strategic directions and operational goals.
Required Qualification and experience: Bachelor’s degree
in Public Relations, Mass Communications or Journalism
with 5 years’ experience in the same position.

• Lead the coordination of and participate in the development
of policy positions and campaigns to further JGI UG strategy
objectives in Uganda.
• Serve as an official JGI spokesperson, as directed.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design,
